School improvement adviser ICT

Claire Graham

Claire became a School Improvement Advisor for North Tyneside in 2010.  She is a qualified Primary teacher and prior to her work with the School Improvement Service she worked in both North Tyneside CLCs delivering creative technology events for all school phases. Recently, she has completed the BCS Certificate in Computer Science Teaching and the Computing for Teachers MOOC led by Warwick University.  She works with all Key Stages across a range of schools in North Tyneside and provides regular bespoke CPD to support Curriculum development.

She delivers the ICT strand for North Tyneside SCITT.  Claire’s educational passions include animation to support thinking in all areas of the curriculum and the development of computational thinking through practical ‘non-wired’ activities.  She subscribes to the ‘poundstore pedagogy’ with an aim to make learning accessible to all.

Neil Brown

Neil became a School Improvement Advisor for North Tyneside in 2010. Prior to his work with the School Improvement Service, he spent two years working across both City Learning Centres in North Tyneside, delivering creative technology events for all school phases. Before that, Neil taught in a North Tyneside primary school for six years. He now supports a wide range of schools in the North East with Computing and provides regular teaching to students from all key stages, plus bespoke Curriculum CPD for staff and online safety support to adults and young people in North Tyneside.

Neil is a CAS Master Teacher, Raspberry Pi Certified Educator, a Google Certified Educator, an Apple Teacher, a CEOP Ambassador. His educational passion is creative uses of technology, and he particularly enjoys artistic design, coding projects, robotics and developing resources to support exciting teaching and learning of computing in schools.


Multimedia specialist

Greg Houghton

Greg is a multimedia specialist. Prior to working for North Tyneside he gained experience creating content and developing campaigns for organisations such as the NHS as well as working in schools. His areas of experience include; design for print and web, film & audio production and product development. Greg supports educational conference events in the borough as well as nationally, he is passionate about the creative process and supports schools and corporate partners in North Tyneside.
