Why choose us?

Our service combines strategic planning, consultancy, training and exemplar teaching, helping us to enable schools with their whole school improvement through the effective and creative use of ICT.  Our holistic approach transfers knowledge, skills and understanding to help schools embrace technology, raising standards and accelerating the school’s e-confidence.

We are a trusted source of advice, bespoke support, face-to-face teaching and training in all aspects of technology use that is relevant to all phases and settings.  The team are particularly skilled in the new computing curriculum, boasting national recognition for developing computing skills: we currently have 2 CAS Master Teachers on our team.

This year we launched a programme to support a team of secondary teachers gain certification and recognition for their developing skills in computing teaching, from the British Chartered Institute of IT.

We provide a proactive programme of e-safety training for the whole school community.

Each year we provide a growing number of opportunities to take part in a program of inter school competitions and expositions that are enjoyed by staff and students alike. Our annual First Lego League event is sponsored by HP Enterprise, and last year saw 15 schools from across North Tyneside compete. We also support Junior First Lego League, annual Animation events and the national Cyber Security challenge.

The team have extensive experience of working with technology in education and understand the diverse demands facing school leaders, practitioners and administrators.

“Just wanted to say thanks. I loved the whole day. It was well organised and really good fun. I know the kids had a great time too and took a lot away from the event.”

(Tom Johnson St Mary’s Forest Hall)

“This year, Neil has greatly supported with the setup of a digital leader initiative in our school. He has delivered invaluable training to the children, which has greatly boosted their confidence, knowledge and understanding.”

(Amy Hall - St Bernadette’s Primary)

“The North Tyneside lesson plans have become our bible and we follow them to the letter where possible. They are very informative and have useful suggestions and comments which teachers find helpful. It is also important that some of the resources can be borrowed from North Tyneside so we can deliver even more in school.”

(Staff at Whitley Lodge First School)

What we offer

Bespoke Teaching

Our team can provide bespoke teaching and learning events in your school in a variety of formats.   These range from full day project based learning events to a day of single lessons delivered to different year groups over the course of the school day.

Any equipment needed to support these sessions will brought to your setting.

Coordinator Support

We offer one to one support for subject leads, offering advice, guidance and challenge around effective delivery of their curriculum.

We also offer a bespoke package for new coordinators to help them address any issues from budget planning to the development of staff skills.

Network Sessions

These events take place regularly throughout the year: every Tuesday following a half term.

The sessions provide a face to face opportunity for coordinators to receive news of current developments, short focused CPD and a chance to develop resources to benefit all SLA users.

CPD Sessions

Each year we provide a wide range of CPD sessions for all school staff. These range from computing across the curriculum, exciting new innovations and support for a range of national competitions.

We also provide an annual course for new computing coordinators to provide them with the skills and knowledge to be confident in their role and in a position to move their school forwards with ICT and computing.

Our team has developed a wide range of teaching and learning materials for schools. Our online resources provide a broad and balanced computing curriculum spanning key stage one, two and three. Detailed lesson plans give teachers everything they need to deliver engaging and exciting lessons to their students with all lesson resources provided.

We regularly update and add to the collection of resources, giving schools choice in how they choose to cover computing objectives and fresh materials to keep their curriculum up to date.

Online Safety

Our advisors can be called upon to deliver online safety teaching across the whole school estate from school assemblies and lessons to Governor training and discussions with parents.

This proactive support is in addition to any support that me be required for emerging online safety concerns with individual users.
