Lesson Resources

Introduction

It is likely that most of this lesson will be spent with the students working on their presentation pages.

Encourage them to go for a uniform style right throughout their presentation, for example, the same background colour on each page and the same font and text size throughout. Also discuss colours that show up well (contrast) against each other and those that are hard to see, for example yellow on white is difficult to see for most people.

Adding images

Show the children how to add the images they saved from the web or any they have created with an art package. Remove any clipart you want to replace by clicking on it and pressing the delete key, then right-click anywhere on the page when you are editing it and choose the Import option. Then just browse to the location you saved your images and select them.

They can also edit the page background colour by clicking on coloured squares button that is top-middle of the screen. They may also need to consider where the page navigation button(s) are on the page if they have expanded their main text box.

Go from this ...

... to something like this:

Get the children to work through all their pages, importing any images that are needed, formatting their text and text boxes and adding background colours, again, thinking about making their project look uniform all the way through.
